Even though the economy has hit the wedding market pretty hard in the last two years, people are still getting married and still finding ways to do it in style. I just returned from Carefree, Arizona where a great couple from Boston had an incredible wedding on top of her family’s mountaintop vacation home. Over two hundred people hailing from all over the world, made their way to the Phoenix area for a gorgeous, sunny 75 degree weekend full of activities that included drinks at real western saloon with a bull-riding competition that followed and a rehearsal dinner poolside at the beautiful Boulders Resort. It was amazing!
I have done several destination weddings over the years, and the best part about them is that bring a unique energy to a wedding because everyone is breaking their normal routine and enjoying an experience just for you. What is even better is if it is somewhere that the guests have never visited. The bride and groom get to introduce a meaningful place to those that mean the most. It is always special. The guests are on vacation as well, so it allows for that freedom and fun and really adds energy to the wedding.
Like this special couple's wedding, when wonderful people are in a wonderful place, it can be magical. And I’ll tell you, deejaying on top of a mountain under a blanket of stars = amazing, leaving New York to head to Arizona in the dead of winter = priceless!
